Meet Nikki – mother of four, full time nursing student and wife. She wanted a portrait that was different and fun and ‘family friendly’. When we met with her, we learned that she, like us, wanted to Breakout of the Boring and create art to display that was not the usual hum-drum stand there and smile kind of portrait. We proposed a ‘rain’ shoot to her and she jumped at the idea. You may recognize this photo. Its our current profile picture on Facebook. We had two hours to just play and thats exactly what she did. Nikki was a great sport and really got into ‘acting’ the part as she pretended to dance in the rain. Or like this shot, behind a watersoaked ‘window’ (actually it was a shower curtain liner). 
We started slow and easy with feathers but when she came out wearing her beautiful purple gown, the “Purple Rain” theme emerged and we moved on to dancing in the rain. As Nikki became more comfortable in front of the camera she really got into it! Of course she wasn’t really in the rain. Maryann was holding a hose and directing the spray behind her. The point of all this – You can have a Dynamic portrait to hang anywhere that is a one-of-a-kind and it features YOU. With a little planning, maybe some props and having loads of fun, together we can create personal art that is CREATIVE – BOLD – DYNAMIC. 
What a BLAST! Nikki really got into it following our direction and enjoying herself. We all had a fantastic time and created some beautiful personal art.
