We are a husband and wife team . I’m Ron Ferland the photographer and my wife, Maryann Ferland, is the girl Friday; creative spirit, studio manager and color consultant. You can read more about our story here.
Our ‘specialty’ is photographing people. Whether it’s a; Creative, Family, Senior, or Maternity session – our goal is the same and that’s to create pictures that are captivating and tell YOUR story.
Our Location
We serve Richmond Virginia, Chesterfield Virginia and surrounding counties and cities.
We are a mobile studio and will come to you or any select nearby location. If you have a particular location in mind, ask us about it. Chances are that is one of our chosen spots and if not, it may become one!

Why the name Created Portraits?
Because it defines what we do.
A portrait is so much more than pointing a camera at someone and clicking a button. We believe in bringing out the best in everyone we photograph. That can be through the creative use of lighting, composition, props, and just plain evoking an emotion that ‘shows’ the subject’s personality.
Creating stunning and compelling images for you is our primary goal. Our creative style is to turn the ordinary into the extraordinary using camera and lighting techniques to create images that grip the viewers attention.
Almost everyone takes lots of digital pictures where they’re enjoyed for a short time, maybe shared with friends but then forgotten. We know because we do the same thing. But not all images are sent to the digital dungeon. We believe for the most part the images we capture are meant to be put on our walls and to be seen. After all, they represent the fabric of our lives. Wouldn’t you agree that some images deserve to be rescued from the digital abyss?
